The service was started in 1971 as National Breakdown Recovery and renamed in 1994 to Green Flag www.greenflag.co.uk. Today Green Flag is the third largest breakdown company in the UK with over 5 million members and dealing with about 1 million call outs a year.
Popular Green Flag Branded Services.
While Green Flag have often trailed behind the likes of the AA and the RAC, they have made progress over the last few years and are now a major player in the breakdown recovery market. Unfortunately, like the RAC, they do not yet have a rival to the AA Repair Cover element of the industry, which is a little surprising. However, they do have an array of branded packages which include Green Flag rescue, Green Flag rescue plus, Green Flag recovery, Green Flag recovery plus and Green Flag Euro plus – an interesting array of services.
